Language at EIS

All students will study English and one other language at IGCSE level depending on their academic background. If students have no previous knowledge of German or French, then they will take a lower  level language course.

Switzerland has four official languages, German, French, Italian and Romansh; it is truly a multilingual country. Learning a new language to communicate with the local community is important, as it opens-up new friendships and cultural opportunities. It also offers new pathways to high education if you want to study abroad.

As an international school, we want all students to maintain and improve their own national language skills. Where possible, we will explore opportunities for students to have tuition for their own language. This is likely to be online, and may incur a further charge.

EIS has a Language School that is open to all students within the school, and the local community. (LINK)
